The Dive
Well, I have no idea how this will work, and it isn't very impressive, but I promised.
For those who don't pay CLOSE attention to the minutiae of my blog, this dive at a Costa Rica waterfall is discussed at the end of this entry.

You realize that those who DID pay close attention to your blog were envisioning something slightly more death-defying.
Having said that, I can recall as a 13 year old diving off of any and every diving platform I found at any pool. Now as a 40 year old I'm leery of the 1 meter board. Putting it into that perspective, I'm suitably impressed.
That's why I almost didn't post this. Hey, I'm not exactly Mr. Hawaii 50 meter cliffdive. It looks far less impressive than it felt. When I first got to the top of the rock and looked down after promising a dive, I was berating myself for having said anything. It was REALLY far down. But that is what dares get you. Remember there were also no true assurances as to depth except for one dude that had jumped. You definitely couldn't see into the water.
OK, I rate it an 8.5, degree of difficulty 2.0, with an age multiplier of 2.5 in effect. 42.5 points from the Minnesotan judge.
It looks better every time.
it was impressive, but you were an idiot if you did not test the depth. How did you get out of the place? Couldn't you get in the same way and test the depth?
In any case, you get props from me. Not an easy dive.
I let the guy before me test. I went in roughly the same area, and asked him before I did it whether he had touched bottom. He said no, so I went for it.
